The festive season is coming to Oxshott soon, and we’re delighted to announce that the Oxshott Christmas Spectacular 2026 will take place on Sunday 22nd November 2026 from 4pm, with the lights being switched on at 6pm!
Get ready for a wonderful event full of Christmas cheer, community spirit, entertainment and festive fun as Oxshott comes together once again to celebrate the start of the festive season.

Regeneration Project - Sustainability Considerations at Site 2
The High Street Regeneration team have confirmed that construction work has officially begun at Site 2, marking another significant milestone in the regeneration project.
As work gets underway at Site 2, the Wolsey House Group team, who are responsible for the actual construction of the regeneration sites, began demolition at Site 2 in the most sustainable and minimally disruptive way possible. The first steps began with the dismantling of the existing brickwork by hand. While mechanical demolition from the start would have been faster and more straightforward, the decision to remove the bricks manually reflects the team's commitment to sustainability, responsible construction and supporting the local community. Of course, mechanical demolition has now begun as a key component to the rest of the demolition, however it was important to the team to ensure sustainability factors be considered wherever possible.
By taking the time to preserve the bricks that were dismantled by hand, those bricks can be repurposed within the project or for future use at other sites, reducing waste and giving valuable materials a second life. Although the manual process required additional time and effort, it forms part of Wolsey House Group's wider commitment to making environmentally conscious decisions wherever practical throughout the construction process.
The alternative would have been to adopt the approach many developers facing tight construction programmes choose: closing the High Street for several days and carrying out a rapid mechanical demolition with little opportunity to recover materials or minimise the impact on neighbouring businesses and residents.
Instead, the regeneration team deliberately chose a slower, more considered method that has enabled the High Street to remain open, disruption to be kept to an absolute minimum and a significant quantity of the existing building materials to be reclaimed rather than sent to landfill.
This decision is another example of the philosophy that has underpinned the regeneration project from the very beginning - placing the needs of the community alongside environmental responsibility and construction efficiency. Every stage of the overall regeneration works has been carefully planned to minimise disruption to local residents, businesses and visitors, while delivering a regeneration that will benefit the village for generations to come.
Oxshott Regeneration Team Announces Sponsorship of Chatterbus
The Oxshott regeneration team is delighted to announce that Peter Brodnicki and James Davis are now proud sponsors of the incredible community transport charity, Chatterbus.
Peter and James are thrilled to align themselves with an organisation that continues to make such a powerful difference to people’s lives.
Chatterbus has established an outstanding reputation for reducing isolation and improving accessibility by providing reliable community transport for residents across Oxshott, Cobham and the surrounding area. While many people have access to their own transport, a significant number still rely on alternative travel options. Chatterbus offers an affordable, reliable and environmentally responsible way for people to access local shops, healthcare, social activities and essential services.
The sponsorship has helped support the introduction of a new Chatterbus route serving Gunters Mead in Oxshott, providing an important transport link for local residents.

July Regeneration Project Update
The Regeneration Team are pleased to share that Site 1 has now reached a major milestone and is officially watertight, bringing it one step closer to completion. With that stage now complete, work is continuing on the internal finishes as the team progresses towards the final stages of construction.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway at Site 2. As many will have seen, the hoarding is now in place. Behind the scenes, the Wolsey House Group team is working hard to ensure everything is in place ahead of the main construction works commencing. This important and essential preparatory work will help the next phase of the regeneration project progress as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
The coming months will bring several further updates and the team are pleased to say that timelines and milestones are still being met as expected.
June Regeneration Project Update
The regeneration team have shared another positive update on the project, with significant progress continuing to be made on Site 1 and exciting developments about to begin on Site 2.
Works at Site 1 continue to advance smoothly and remain fully on schedule. Both the roof and window installation phases are now very much underway and progressing well, marking another positive milestone for the works.
One of the most impressive aspects of the project so far that continues to surprise a lot of residents has been the considerate and discreet approach taken throughout construction. Many residents and visitors have commented that they were unaware works had even been taking place, despite the substantial progress that continues to be achieved behind the scenes. This is a real testament to the professionalism and careful planning of the team at Wolsey House Group, who have worked hard to ensure disruption has been kept to an absolute minimum while maintaining excellent progress towards the project.
Site 2 Set to Begin
Progress now also turns to Site 2, where work will officially commence on Monday 8th June with the start of demolition activities. This marks the first step in preparing the site for the next phase of development and represents another exciting milestone for the wider regeneration project.
As has been the case with Site 1, Wolsey House Group will continue to carry out works with a strong focus on minimising disruption to the surrounding community. Their proven track record at Site 1 gives us great confidence that works at Site 2 will be managed with the same care, professionalism and attention to detail.
Looking Ahead
It’s encouraging to see both sites moving forward, with Site 1 making excellent visible progress and Site 2 preparing to begin its transformation. We look forward to sharing further updates as work continues.
High Street Royal Mail Postal Service Update
As part of the imminent works at Site 2 (the old Post Office), Royal Mail has reviewed local postal provision and confirmed that the existing High Street post box will be removed rather than relocated.
Importantly, this reflects the strong postal service already available within Oxshott Village Store, where the main postal sack collection point is located, and where residents can continue to post regular letters and parcels conveniently. With the majority of local post that is posted on the High Street already handled through the store, Royal Mail considers this the most effective long-term arrangement for the village, as the High Street post box was near enough empty the majority of the time.
Therefore, from Sunday 17th May, Oxshott Village Store will remain the central location for all letter and parcel posting services. The store continues to play an important role within the community, providing not only postal services but also a wide range of everyday products and support for local residents.
